I just thrifted a Canon Powershot sx610 hs and when I wanted to switch to program instead of auto. However, when I press the “FUNC/SET” button, it only shows “self-timer” and “movie quality”. So can anyone help me? I wanna be able to find setting such as ISO or white balance.

You need to be in P mode
Here is a selection (1 page out of 3) of what you can set. Note that P mode allows you to set everything

You can download the manual for FREE to go with your thrift purchase. It's 162 pages of how-to-use the camera.

Hi, what would you do if the camera switch was able to move up and down, but it isn't going into P mode? Any guesses on what you think it is? I'd love to know!

Are you setting the Mode Switch to Auto?
Have you downloaded the manual?

I have looked at the manual and yeah whenever I try to move the switch to the Auto, the mode stays as Creative Shot mode (the middle one when it comes to the switch). I know that because at the top right I see the 3 rectangles which indicate it's still in "creative mode"
I still don't know what's going on with the camera 😞
