Memory Card Locked on Canon g7x mark ii

hello everyone, i recently bought a canon g7x mark ii and my SD card is a Sand Disk and it is still showing that my memory card is locked. I have watched multiple tutorials as well as made sure the tiny switch on the side was unlocked and there is still an issue. My camera is brand new and this is a little upsetting since I was planning on using this for my youtube channel. Does anyone have any suggestions and does my camera have to be updated? I am also not able to format it as well with the SD card in

Are you using full-sized SD cards, or micro-sized with adapters?  Using micro-sized can lead to lots of issues.

Do you have a second card that you can try?   Perhaps try one with a smaller capacity (e.g. 32 GB).

If you've tried multiple full-sized cards and none are working, probably a good idea to send it in for service.  If it's new, it should be covered by a warranty.
