IXUS 105 goes black and unresponsive after pressing shutter button

Hello ! Can someone help me. So we have an old digital camera from Canon, it’s Canon Ixus 105.

Since it’s old the battery isn’t working anymore, so I bought a new one. I inserted the new battery and it worked, but when i tried to take a photo by clicking that circle button on top, it turns black; I can’t say it turns off because the lens didn’t retract.

I thought the battery is just drained/low so I charged it. And after the charger labeled that it’s fully charge, I tried to insert it again; but sadly it didn’t worked :<

please help me, im not a camera expert. Idk what to do.

If a new battery did not help, probably not.
