Is the battery OK?
Is the charger working?
These are the first things I would be trying, borrowing another chager or battery to prove these points
Are the contacts dirty, sometimes wiping the battery contacts with a soft lint free cloth helps.... yet again it could also be tarnished battery contacts in the camera, this would interefere with making a proper connection.
