Google photos unlimited storage will compress any files over 16mb. If I shoot with the highest quality JPEG, will these files be affected? also will I be loosing important information when it compresses rthe RAW files? Thank you!

I don't think you can compress a RAW file AND most photo sharing sites don't recognize them.

It depends on the compression. If it is lossless like .zip, it shouldn't matter. If it is lossy, like JPEG, you don't have a raw file anymore.
