Canon SX740 HS will not Focus in P Mode

My Canon SX740 HS camera problem will not focus when I use the zoom facility in Program mode. This works fine in Auto mode. Any suggestions about resolving this issue please. Thank you.

Contact Canon Support. But first, try FULLY resetting the camera when you are in P mode. Walk through all the menus and reset everything that you find with a reset option.
