Greetings to everybody,
I own a Canon PowerShot SX740 HS. I know that the package contains a battery charger supplied from the residential voltage (in my case, and irrelevant to subject, 120 VAC).
However, when I am camping in the wilderness, the battery charger is not an option. I used to charge my smart phone and a previous camera from a source with four AA batteries and a USB output. In other words, a portable USB charger.
For Canon PowerShot SX740 HS, can the battery be charged while inside the camera, through camera's USB socket ?
Thank you,
Florin

Sorry, the battery must be charged outside of the camera.

Actually, you can charge via USB. Its even written in the manual. They even state that the AC charger is optional.

They certainly buried it deep in the manual.
Thanks for the correction.
I hope Florin_S got better advice somewhere else.
