Hello - new to this forum and am looking for some experience, advise. I have the older model Canon PowerShot SX160 IS, and I'm wondering if anyone out here has used this camera for shooting the Northern Lights / Auroras? And if so, what settings would be recommended?
Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome to the forum:
There are several methods for doing this, but you could start with Scn Mode, and select Fireworks. That will automatically bias the camera to record the lights in vivid colour and accumulate enough exposure.

Thanks Trevor, I'll definetely give that a try! Aurora's have been really active here, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so hopefully I get a chance soon!
Best, Jeff

Down in NZ our Aurora Australis is also putting on a show, but I'm too far north to be able to appreciate it.
