Greetings RND,
I saw your other post, but have had family in town. Sorry I couldn't reply sooner. This issue was introduced by Microsoft when they released build 24H2. The solution I'll outline has been successful for many users.
As long as you've installed the drivers Stephen mentioned above you have what you need. Here are the additional steps that should get scanning working for you again. Please read the entire post. You are going to reinstall the device drivers for the MF650C series under the +Imaging devices heading in Device Manager.
Bring up Device Manager, (right click on the Start Menu, select Device Manager from the context menu). Expand +Imaging devices, then right click your device. (Note) You may have more than one entry. If you do, you will need to disable both. If not, just the one entry. Canon MF650C Series. Important > right click on the device entry and click Disable Device. Then right click on it again and select Browse my computer for drivers, then select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer. A browse for drivers dialog will appear. Your printer/scanner should be in the list, make sure it is selected, then click Next.
It should say "Windows has successfully updated your drivers". Make sure you do this for all of the devices listed there. Once complete, close the dialog and Device Manager.
Please retest the MF Scan Utility. Please post your results. 🙂

Hey there!
There are a handful of pieces that need to be installed from https://canon.us/MF654Cdwsoftware
If your unit is connected by USB and you have those software modules installed, you should be able to scan. If you need additional help, our friendly team will be happy to help at 1-800-OK-CANON (800-652-2666).

That worked. Thank you very much. Hope you enjoyed your family visit.
The MS Fax and Scan App worked as a last resort.
