imageCLASS MF741Cdw - How to SCAN TO USB?

Want to SCAN TO USB on my ImageClass 741CDW printer.

Understand that USB thumb must be USB2.0 formatted to FAT16/FAT32.  I have done this.

There is a USB port on the back panel, upper right side.  I have installed thumbdrive in this port.

When I select SCAN to USB, printer indicates CONNECT DEVICE.?!

How do I get the 741 to recognize the USB and, better yet, allow me to save to it?

I am not certain if the rear USB port is intended for external flash or HDD's.  I know it can be used for an external keyboard.

Yup, the LEGEND stands! 

Right in front of my face but did not see the front USB port!  Worked like a fine swiss watch!
