Now this is a twist. I'm posting a question. 😁
I recently discovered that my MF743 and my church's MF733 are BOTH no longer able to scan to email. What happens is that after the recipient's Email address has been entered, the document scanned and the proper start button pressed (color or B&W), both machines will scan documents as expected. Each machine then starts the transmission process, but maybe 10 or so seconds later, the confirmation sheet spits out with the word "Error" on the left side of the confirmation page.
Now for the details:
Both locations (home & church) are using Verizon Fios.
Both machines use different Outlook addresses to send emails.
Both machine's options were not changed in any way, shape or form.
I defaulted the 743 and reprogrammed to see if that would resolve the issue. (It didn't).
Settings:
Port Number Settings:
LPD (515)
RAW (9100)
WSD Multicast Discovery (3702)
HTTP (80)
Multicast Discovery (427)
POP3 (110)
SMTP (587)
FTP (161)
SNMP (1500)
SMTP Server Address (smtp-mail.outlook.com)
Allow TLS (SMTP) On
SMTP Authentication (On)
Both email address passwords are verified to be correct.
Side note: I tried changing the email address in the church's 733 to a gmail and changed to SMTP to reflect Google's information. A retest still failed.
Thoughts? 🤔

Greetings,
I haven't sent for a bit. ISP is Comcast. Let me check my Scan to Email. I am using Gmail for SMTP.
Working like a charm. 🙂
Both M365 and Gmail require an App Password. These printers do not support Modern Authentication.

Hi Rick!
I would like to confirm that I had the 733 configured properly when trying to email using a Google address.
Could the port configuration for Google be posted?
I want to cover all of my bases before bringing Verizon into the picture. 🙂

Hi again,
I'm also set to 587. I'm wondering about the SMTP Server Address.
Outlook's is: smtp-mail.outlook.com 🤔

Thank you, Rick! I will try changing over to Google on my 743 to see if that makes any difference and then report back.

Haven't had the chance to test using Google. Will test as soon as possible. 🙂
