imageCLASS MF726Cdw email scan gets ERROR 753

Hi, I'm using this imageCLASS MF726cdw on a Mac OS network. I had the scan to email set up via an older (2015) MacBook Pro and it was working fine, emailing the scans, etc. I send the older MacBook Pro and now have a new one  MacBook Pro M4 Max (Silicon) and set it up the same way, and I'm now getting ERROR 753, and the scan is not being sent. Can anyone walk me through setting the scan to email from scratch on this printer? I must be missing something and would prefer to start over. Canon doesn't seem to want to help as this model is discontinued.

Any help will be useful! Thanks!

Hi WayneRM45,

The scan to email configuration is configured on the printer.  If it works on one device it should work on another if connected to the same network.  Does it have the same software installed?

Please tell me about the steps you are using to send the request.  Is it the MF scan utility, etc?  Please provide as much detail as possible so that I can try to understand the issue better.

Are you able to scan to email successfully from the printers LCD?

Error 753 indicates a network connectivity or configuration problem.

How is the printer connected and to what?

Did you install Canon drivers or are you using AirPrint?

Here's a link to the products support portal so you can tell us exactly what you installed.

Please provide as much detail as possible 🙂

The printer is connected via wireless network, and as far as I know I'm using the latest drivers available. It's an Apple setup and it's connected wirelessly to an Apple MacBook Pro (silicon) M4 Max, which is, as far as I know, the latest version of this model. The MacOS sis Sequoia 15.5. I've been able to scan from the printer and send via the printer, using the email option and the address book. I had an older MacBook Pro that it was being used to set it up using the connection from the printer driver, where I set up the address book, etc. Everything was working, I had been scanning, emailing to multiple addresses. then I got the new MacBook, wiped the old one, and prepared to sell it. I figured the setup on the portal would still work. Wrong! When I tried setting up the newer MacBook using the same portal, again from the link from the printer driver, that is when things got confusing. I must be missing something on the portal, or some parameter on the printer that needs to be set up for the newer Mac. Attached are some of the screenshots of the setup. If you need any more info, let me know. It seems like I'm missing something in the setup. FYI, I set up the scanner using the scan utility and get the printer to scan and send the email from the utility. I would prefer to send from the printer/scanner, however, since my Mac and the printer are on two different floors, and I would prefer not to have to run up and down the stairs. Thanks for all your help. The screenshots should be attached.
