imageCLASS MF663Cdw Laser Printer Goes Unresponsive

I bought a MF663Cdw color laser printer for Christmas.  The past two months of owning it, I have experienced an issue.  The laser printer goes into sleep mode and is quiet most of the time.  Randomly (could be a few days or just a few hours), it will make a noise like it is waking up to print.  When it does this, the noise last for 2 seconds and then the noise goes away.  Afterwards (about 95% of the time) the printer goes unresponsive.  Even the touch screen panel will not respond.  I am forced to push and hold the power button for 5 seconds (or unplug the printer) to turn it off.  Then, I turn the printer back on and everything is fine until the noise happens again at some random interval.

I updated the firmware twice since purchasing the printer hoping it would be fixed, but still nothing.  The last update was two days ago.  I can't seem to find anything on this issue as the printer is new and it doesn't appear to be happening to other similar models.  So, does anyone know what could be causing this issue?  The printer goes unresponsive and is disconnected from the Wi-Fi when it happens.  It never responds to anything except for the power button being pressed when in that "dead' state.

@dacripe,

If your device is periodically going offline I.E not detectable by other devices on your network, it's likely your network configuration... And nothing to do with the printer. Do you have a IP address assigned (static IP)?  You cannot rely on DHCP for a persistent device such as a printer.  Lease times for DHCP IP assignment vary by device and manufacturer. (network hardware)

The printer's LCD will show the last wireless connection known to the printer, but if you're not seeing the printer in the routers list of attached devices, it is not connected to your network, will not wake or receive print jobs.

Optional but recommended , the printer should be installed as a TCP/IP device on your computer(s). You can do this on Windows or Mac very easily.  If you need assistance with any of this I can provide assistance.
