imageCLASS MF654Cdw isn't being detected via USB

Hello Everyone,

I posted a few weeks ago and didn't couldn't find a solution. Well, now for more of an update.

My MF654Cdw Imageclass isn't being detected now at all. I've tried different cables, different ports, updated everything (including my BIOS) to see if that would help. After disconnecting and reinstalling everything, that worked briefly, for approximately 10 scans, and now my problem is back. I am getting a 255,0,0 error code. I uninstalled all my drivers again to repeat the process. But now, when connecting via USB, the installer from Canon for my printer cannot detect the device at all. 

 

Any help or ideas?

This sounds like a problem with your operating system or hardware, and not the printer.

Are other USB devices detected when they get connect to the computer in question?  Please insure you're connecting directly to an available USB port and not through a hub or adapter.

USB connections are great for printing from a single computer, but Wi-Fi or ethernet is much more versatile as it will allow any device connecting to the same Network to print.  Might this be an option?

Other devices are connected and running directly from the tower (eg: keyboard, mouse, webcam, external HD). The printer has been connected to front and back USB's and is no longer being detected. I can find it over the network. But the USB isn't working. Printing over the network isn't a problem. However, I cannot setup the SMTP for scanning and emailing and I need the scanner function a lot right now. Not being able to scan is causing a lot of problems and hassles.
