I have an imageclass mf654cdw with less than 250 prints on it that requires a new intermediate transfer belt. My 2yo stuffed hair clips in the toner drawer that fell through and ripped the belt causing a big streak of missing toner on the prints. I have searched for the needed part, but all I have come across are not confirmed with the mf654cdw. Does anyone know what the part number is for the assembly or the belt itself? Or if the lbp654cdw uses the same parts.

Greetings,
I suggest you try the Canon parts dept.
You can reach them Monday through Friday at 1-866-481-2569. I'm not sure the ITB is user replaceable but you can ask.

Anecdotally I have read that between the cost of the transfer belt and the headache or cost of replacing it, a new printer may be more efficacious. Chalk it up to the price of parenthood.
After further thought, there also may be more damage than you think. I'm sure the paper clips did not do the cartridge drums any good, and then there's the fuser...

I think mreg may be right. The ITB is not inexpensive and a teardown might reveal more damage. I'd call sales and tell your story and see if they can help. Canon does have an upgrade program where they offer a small discount and free shipping. If you call and talk to somebody, it's possible they might help.
