We have the Imageclass MF6444cdw and need to replace the transfer film due to excess red toner ink spilling onto it. Has anyone done this and where can we obtain the instructions?

I believe that ITBs can be replaced. Canon Customer Support should be able to assist.

Greetings,
I'd start with a cleaning
The ITB is not considered a user serviceable part. This is why documentation is hard to come by. Probably best left to a repair technician.
I found some youtube videos and this which is for the MF640 series.
I'd still recommend professional service.
The MF644Cdw has a 3yr warranty.

The thing about servicing an imageCLASS is that the cost of the parts plus labor could, conceivably, push the total into the ballpark of a brand-new unit. 😐
