My printer (above model) keeps dropping the connection to my computer. I have used the scanner connection successfully numerous times, but now I get this error message frequently "Connect the computer".
To make it worse (for me), I can't figure out how to get the printer back online manually. I turned the printer off and back on, and this reset the connection to the computer once. I did the same process this morning, and the scanner is still offline. I did look at all 75 times the Owners Manual found the search term "connect" but nothing addressed this problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

pdate: I am not using the protected printing, and the printer connects and works just fine.

Should I place a repair request? I still have not found a solution.
