I bought MF641cw with 054 laser toner cartridge last week. I printed around 150 full colour pages and now the printer is showing one of my color cartridges to be 20%. Isn’t 054 color cartridge supposed to print around 1,300 pages? Or is it the printer misreading the cartridge? Is there any way i can do to reduce ink usage but keep the quality?

Greetings ,
Page yield can be affected by the percentage of ink coverage. Page yield is usually 3 to 5%
Are you on Windows or Mac, try printing in draft or reduced quality. You probably will barely notice the difference, but it can save a lot of toner.

Published toner cartridge life numbers (and inkjet ink numbers) are based on pages of double-spaced 11-12 point text. That is very little coverage, as shadowsports said. Compared to that, full-page photos, solid blocks of color and the like use huge amounts of toner/ink. There's no way to predict how many prints YOU will get.
So, the numbers are probably not real-world unless you using your computer as a typewriter! They are just a means of comparison.
