I have a imageCLASS MF264dw. I'm trying to scan documents so that written and typed words come out darker and clearly. I currently have it at 300 dpi, but it comes out light and not really clear. And i don't want to increase the dpi because then the file will be bigger. I have scan docs in other printers at 200 dpi and they come out great.
The manual located here: http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0/0300031610/03/MF269dw_UsersGuide_usEN_2.pdf
On pg 252 of manual, there are 3 options to scan clearly by: Image Quality, Density and Sharpness. When I go to the Sharpness instructions on pg 255, it says to do the following for scanning sharpness:
Scan -> Specify Destination -> <Sharpness> ->Adjust Sharpness -> Apply
However, the Sharpness and Density options only shows up on the Copy screen. On Scan screen, it's not listed, and only allows me to choose: Color, B&W scan, Custom 1 and Custom 2.
The MFScan Utility does not allow me to set Sharpness or Denisty settings either.
So are these instructions a misprint in the manual, and therefore this printer does not have the option to set Denisty and Sharpness for scanning? Or there is a way to set those in this scanner?

Hi dplaza00.
Those settings are used when scanning from the MF264dw's operation panel. Information on scanning from the MF Scan Utility may be found in the software's own online manual:
