Hi,
I hope this message finds you well.
I have recently installed two network printers, imageCLASS MF264dw II. However, a few days later, both devices encountered an issue. In the morning, both printers displayed the following message on their panels:
***Download mode*** UPDATING FIRMWARE. DO NOT TURN OFF
And it stayed like that for half an hour. Then we decided to restart the printers. After rebooting we had:
***DOWNLOAD MODE*** NETWORK AVALAIBLE IP ADDRESS:XXX.XX.XX.XX PRESS STOP KEY TO EXIT
When I press on "STOP" key, the printer turns off. When I turn on the printer I have the same notification:
***DOWNLOAD MODE*** NETWORK AVALAIBLE IP ADDRESS:XXX.XX.XX.XX PRESS STOP KEY TO EXIT
I can't cancel this mode.
Your assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Greetings ,
I recall there being a discussion about this earlier this year. Try pressing and holding the Stop button. With that key depressed, turn the printer off. Now stop pressing the button.
Next, press and hold the Stop button again. While holding the Stop button down, press the power button. Continue holding the stop button down while the printer starts. You should see the printer standard start menu / icons. Release the start button. Let me know if this helps?

Hello,
From what you are describing, you can try turning the printer on while holding down the stop button to see if it clears the message. You can also try power cycling the router while the printer is off or checking to see if any other devices on the network have the same IP address as the printer. If you continue to run into issues, I suggest contacting support over the phone at 1-800-652-2666. Our agents would be happy to help.

Hello i already contacted CANON by phone, they know about the issue and probably there is no solution, they even tried to sell me another CANON printer with a discount.
