imageCLASS LBP632Cdw won't let me do a second pass

Hi im Michael and i own the Canon LBP 632 Cdw Laser printer.  I want to print labels with gold and white fonts but seems impossiable to do.  I have a hex code of gold i like and print it on the weatherproof white labels, it comes out great.  Now i want to pass the sheet back thru again and let my ghost white toner print the fonts in white, but the printer wont let me do a second pass.  I think there is some sensor stopping it from passing thru and printing a second time, is there a work around for this ?

Are you using the manual feed slot for both or either of these passes?

Yes I'm using the manual feed for both passes.

Thanks.  I've never heard of anything like this.  What is happening exactly when you say "printer wont let me do a second pass."?  The application sends error?  The printer doesn't feed the paper with a message on the printer screen?  The paper just doesn't feed and no messages whatsoever?  What exactly is happening?

I would be hugely surprised if Canon put a sensor in that allowed the paper through once, but then decides it cannot go through a second time.  Not that it's impossible, I guess.

Greetings,

Using the manual feed slot, you should be able to put a piece of paper or envelope through the printer even if it has printing on it.

What happens when you feed the paper through a second time?

I suspect the issue is the ghost white toner which is not supported.  It may or may not work but it's definitely not supported.

Let me see if I can explain more exactly what's happening.  The printer doesn't physically stop me from putting the paper or the sheet of labels back through the manual feed it will take it.  The problem is it refuses to print on it it'll suck it in and take it and go through its motions but it will not print over the previous toners that's been put on there.

I don't think it has anything to do with the ghost white toner because the ghost white toner you have to be in black and white mode for the toner to work.  I have printed with the ghost white toner it works fine if I put let's say a sheet of gold foil labels and print on those just wanting the white toner to come on to work it works.

Canon has built something into the printer that when you try to stick a printed piece back through haven't tried the bottom tray but I've tried to manual feed tray there's some kind of sensor there has to be that it picks up that there's toner already on the page and it's protecting itself and it won't print.

I can think of no other explanation because I can take a blank sheet that hasn't been put through and it'll print right on it but as soon as you try to put one in there that's already been printed on it just refuses to print it'll suck it in and go through its motions like it's printing but it won't print on it.

So I was hoping some of these ran into this and there's a way to trick the printer there's some kind of setting in the driver I don't know I'm kind of at a loss.

I actually did get it to work I printed a red six inch by 6 inch square let it cool down and then I stuck it back through the manual feed which I pushed it through the manual feed to get the red and then I push it through the manual feed to get the white ghost toner to print I don't know why it wasn't working before you have to be in black and white mode to get it to print white over your previous color problem with the ghost toner is it's not it's not opaque so you have to crank the settings up all the way because it's kind of semi opaque White to get it to really show up good.

Glad you figured out the secret decoder ring to find a solution!
