The Canon CaptureOnTouch software supports scanning documents in the following formats:
-PDF
-TIFF
-JPEG
-BMP
-PPTX (Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 or later)
You many need to use another software that supports scanning with OCR and that will allow you to convert the scanned document to a text document. As there are numerous softwares available, we are unable to recommend a specific one. I can only recommend performing a web search for information on scanning, or saving scanned documents with Microsoft Word.
