my printer suddenly started giving me the filter failed error message. I"ve deleted and reinstalled it over 10 times. I unplugged the printer and restarted it twice.  nothing works.  why?

Using the most current Mac op AGS software. My laptop updates automatically when new releases come out.   Connected via USB cable. I’ve unplugged that cable, turned  power off/on several times and h w delete and reinstalled printer drivers  about 30 times. Still won’t print PDFs
