I have the same problem and when I make a copy it also prints black.

 

Here's my scenario.  Changed cartridge.  Printed blank page.  Shook cartridge. Now just prints a totally black page.

Are you able to place the old toner cartridge back in the machine and make a copy?  If so, do you experience the same error?  Also, what is the model number of the cartridge that you are using with the machine?

I bought a brand new Canon 125 toner cartridge.  The old cartridge was empty.  Still the same problem.  It prints a black page.  Please help!  I miss my printer.

I am in the US.  However, I gave up on my printer and bought a new Epson since I wasn't getting anywhere with Canon.  My Canon is in storage because I didn't have the heart to trash it which was what your tech department told me to do the last time I talked to them.  If you figure out what the problem is with your printer let me know.  I'd gladly use it if I could get it working.
