PFI-102 ink catridge full, but will not work in IPF 700

We have two ink cartridges that were new, full, but not recognized by the printer.  Other cartridges will work.

I have another cartridge that is about half full with similar problem.

Questions: What is the shelf life of these units?

I would like to get replacement cartridges from Canon for the PFI-102BK, 102M, 102Y that failed.

Try cleaning the contact in the print head where it matches up to the ink cartridge. Sometimes ink will get on these and will not recognize the cartridges.
