Move old cartridges to new printer (MB5320 to MB5420)?

Can I move the good cartridges from my old 5320 to my new 5420?

Cartridges are stock Canon.

Look at the specs for both printers and see if they take the same cartridges. If they do, no problem moving them from one printer to the other.

Yes, they are the same, but I am concerned about the strict programming on Canon's cartridge chips...

The "strict programming" is not a factor.
