Hello,
I am trying to install a MF743Cdw on my home network. I have done the following:
Setup the printer on wifi
Verified it is connected by seeing the router gave it an IP address
Made sure I could see it from my PC by pinging the IP address from the command line
Also went to the printer's web page from the laptop browser
I then ran the driver software (picked up from the canon site to be sure it is the latest) MF741CMFDriverV6401W64
I am using a Windows 10 (64bit) laptop
When I try to install the driver in the very first step "Select Device" it will bring up a progress bar for about 10 seconds then say "The device of the specified IP address is not found. ...".
I can't get past this. I have turned off firewalls, again I can ping it and see the web page, but the install driver software does not seem to be able to find it even if I give it the IP specifically.
I have seen a lot of comments on this problem but do not see anything that helps me. I also tried this with a wired ethernet connection to eliminate the wifi peice and still have the same problem. I am hoping there is some help I can get on this. I can call customer service but I have read that others have done that with long delays and no real help. I hope I can get pointed to some process that will really work.
Thanks,
Jim Delmege

Greetings,
"The device of the specified IP address is not found. ..." Does this mean you are inputting the devices IP address somewhere?
This should detect on its own, even if a static IP is used as long as both computer and printer are on the same lan segment.
