I have a MF644 cdw with good toner cartridges that are all at least half full. The print became increasingly lighter for all of the colors until it no longer was readable. Is this a heating/fusing element issue? What can I do to repair this?

Sounds like it could be the transfer belt or the fuser. If I recall I think the transfer belt is more expensive than the printer. If you're out of warranty you may be out of luck. Have you taken a look inside the printer with the cartridges removed to look at the page-size belt?

In addition, you should perform all cleaning and maintenance operations, and look at the gradation settings. Are you in an extremely humid environment?
