MF642cdw will not print user text on forms

So frustrated with this.  Printer will not print user text on forms from the web or .pdf.  Using latest Mac OS, latest Canon drivers and printer firmware.  Deleted and reinstalled printer MANY times.  Only way to print complete form is to screen shot, or export .pdf as a .jpg.  Print preview displays fine.

Hello Gap,

We would be happy to assist with the issue. To provide some feedback or some troubleshooting steps, we would need some additional information. If you could reply to this message with the information below, we can provide some assistance.

  1. Which specific version of the Mac OS do you have? To find your version of the Mac OS click on the apple in the upper left hand corner of the screen and then click on about this Mac.
  2. What program are you printing the forms from and do you run into the same problem when printing from other apps?

iMac Big Sur 11.6

Canon Printer Firmware: "This is the latest firmware" is displayed on menu

Canon Utilities: Canon MF642 Version 16.2 (587.2)

Multiple apps have shown issue of not printing user text, especially on web and .pdf forms.

Most notibly is Adobe Reader, when inputing text in forms

Online forms, entered text does not show

Goodreader app, sometimes copied text from another source works, other times not

Adobe reader prints fine from a phone, but not from computer (latest versions as well)

If pages are converted to images it prints

I have a $50 B&W Brother printer that prints perfectly from the same apps and programs, never a problem.  This is my go to when Canon frequently messes up, burning through expensive toner in the process.
