MF451dw - printing blank pages

My printer is printing only blank pages.  It is wired to my MAC and the OS is OSMonterey12.2.1  This is  a new computer.  The same thing happed to my prior printer after a time, the same model.  That is, it worked fine for some time, and then there would be a lapse in time before printing out a job, which lapse got longer and longer, and after a time it stopped printing altogether, except for blank pages.
