Laptop doesn't see imageCLASS MF4770n via USB

I have been given a new to me Image Class 4770n (2014) that has printing, scanning, copying, and faxing capabilities that were all in good working condition prior to me receiving it.  I really only need it to print and scan though.  

The issue is I cannot get my laptop to find it.  I have it connect with the USB cord it came with and the printer wakes up when the computer wakes up but that seems to be the only communication they have.  This is the same with a different laptop that I connected it too. 

I am semi tech able but I have exhausted all of the searches and troubleshooting I know to even be able to just do basic printing.  Please help or let me know that it is not possible so that I can move on.
