Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing a very frustrating issue with my Canon MF232W and I'm hoping someone here can help, or that Canon support can offer some guidance.
The printer receives the print job, the “Processing Data” light keeps blinking, the screen shows “Printing”, and in the Windows print queue, the status shows as “printing” — but nothing comes out. The printer just sits there and doesn't print.
Sometimes, if I power cycle the printer, clear the print queue, and send the job again, it eventually prints. Other times, it doesn’t print at all. There’s no pattern. It seems to print when it feels like it.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Switched from Wi-Fi to Ethernet cable → issue persists;
Tested on two different computers running Windows 11 → same issue;
Also tested on a Mac → sometimes it prints normally, sometimes it doesn’t;
Reset the printer;
Reinstalled the drivers;
Checked the print spooler, cleared the cache, restarted the service.
None of this fixed the issue.
Has anyone experienced this with the MF232W? Is there any firmware update or known fix for this kind of intermittent failure?
I’d really appreciate any suggestions. At this point, I'm starting to think it may be a hardware issue, but I’d like to exhaust all possible solutions before assuming that.
Thanks in advance!
