Imageclass MF217w

I cannot get this thing to scan. It's been one problem after another. The latest problem is this:


These are the steps I can go through:

1) Can press "Scan" on printer window

2) Can choose "computer" under select the scan type

3) Can choose "B&W scan" under Select Scan Type

4) I then press the start button

5) I CANNOT choose 2 of the options listed. One is my name, the other is B&W scan. Nothing happens when I touch either of these., then eventually it comes up "an error occurred"

In order to prperly assist you,  I will just need to know what operagting system you are running?  Additinoally, can you scan using the steps when you click HERE?
