ImageClass MF8080CW suddenly is saying paper jam but no paper is in printer - now what?

I have a no longer supported ImageClass MF8080CW all in one that I was using earlier in the afternoon, printed fine. Now about 5 hours later, tried to print from an email. Keep getting a "paper jam" alert.  I have taken the entire printer apart, even turning it so I could check the bottom with the tray out. No paper anywhere. Tried turning on/off. Didn't help. DId not remove from my laptop since I can't even get it to now copy from the glass. Thankfully, I didn't order the ink cartridges yet. Suggestions before I just replace it with another smaller, easier to move, lighter, simpler version. I'm not doing the printing and copying that I have in the past. Trash day is tomorrow and it may be out by morning.
