ImageClass D480 scanner not working on Windows 11

Just upgraded to Windows 11 (not a fan so far, but that's a whole other can of squirrels) and installed my old Canon Imageclass D480 multi function printer. Downloaded drivers for printer and scanner from Canon's website (after selecting Windows 11 as the OS). The printer installed without a hiccup, and prints off my network. But the scanner did not. No Scanner Installed is the message I get when trying to use the Canon Scanner Toolbox. Is there no actually Win 11 compatible scanner driver for the D480?

Hi RobSchaez10.  Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The ImageClass D480 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Ron,

I knew I was at the end of Support a few years ago when I tried to ask for tech support vis phone, but thought since they had Win 11 drivers for the printer, and the drivers for the scanner said Win 11, it would install as seamlessly as the printer (the Scanner Toolbox installed just fine) :-(.

Hey there!

I'm not a tech, I'm just nosey! 😂
I saw [Windows 64bit] Color Network ScanGear V2.71 on the page, but I didn't see you mention whether you were able to install it:Stephen_0-1737998707229.png

Thanks Stephen,

I installed that version, but for some reason my computer says it can't find an installed scanner when I try to use it
