Thank you so much for your help. I couldn't get the Text Edit app to open but something told me to check for an update with Adobe. Once I updated (and it is supposed to be on auto update) I can now print pdf's!

PDFs can contain literally anything.  Is its contents a document with plain text?  An image? something else?

Also, what computer or device are you using (best to also include its operating system)?  And what specific application or app (software) are you printing the PDF from?

One was an image & other was plain text

Using MacOS Sonoma. The problem started when I did the update to Sonoma.

What software are you using to print the PDF though? From a web browser such as Safari? From the built-in Preview application? Adobe Reader? Something else?

Adobe

Try opening up the PDF in Apple's built-in Preview application.  Any difference?

Do other things print OK?  e.g. if you use the built-in TextEdit application and attempt to print out a sentence or two of text, does that work?  Just wondering if there's an issue with printing in general.

While I don't have your exact printer, I've had no issues printing PDFs with my Canon imageCLASS MF653Cdw.  I am currently using macOS 14.1.1 (Sonoma)
