Canon Pro4000 MBK Cart Dumping Ink into Ink Supply Mount Unit

Hi!

 

Just received a new ink cart for my Pro4000 and the day after I installed it all the ink was gone.  I checked my maintenance cart but there wasn't an abundance of MBK.  I took my side panel off and noticed all the MBK had dumped into the Ink Supply Mount Unit located under the Left side ink carts. 

 

Does anyone have any idea what would cause this?
