imageCLASS MF642Cdw puts out blank page before asking to choose paper tray

Get blank or nearly blank page before it asking me to choose paper tray.  Choosing tray just repeats previous issues.  Do not know if there are any known fixable issues such as RAM or maintenance item that may be able to correct before disposing of unit.  Unit is about 5 years old so no warranty.  Hopefully someone has seen this or had similar issues.
