Canon MF455DW won't print large PDF files

JeffR1

Recently purchased a MF455 which prints word documents fine and most PDF files.  Certain large PDFs (>2MB) won't print, just says "waiting" on printer.  How can I get these files to print?

Hello JeffR1,

We would be happy to assist with the issue. To provide some feedback or some troubleshooting steps, we would need some additional information. If you could reply to this message with the information below, we can provide some assistance.

  1. What version of the Mac or Windows operating system are you using on your computer?
  2. Are you connecting via USB or is it over a network?
  3. What program are you printing the PDF files from and do you run into the same issue when trying to print the PDF files from another program?

Thank you.

1. MacOS 12.6 Monterey

2. Over network

3. Abode Acrobat Reader DC

Issue does not occur with all PDF only those that are large >approximately 1MB

Hello,

If you are only having the problem when printing files over a certain size, the problem could be caused by the connection. In this situation, You can try unplugging your router from the power for 5 seconds and then plugging it back in. Once the network is back up, you can try printing again to see if you have the same issue.

If you continue to have problems, you can try printing the PDF files from preview to see if you have the same problems.

this is not a network issue.  It only happens with some PDFs that are large, there is a strong network connection and the message on the printer is "waiting for document to finish".  Also these files print fine on other printers on the same network.

Is there an update here? I'm having the same issue with MF453W.

Greetings,

Its best if you start a new thread.  You printer hardware, computer OS, software etc are different.

Please provide the information above, and the steps you are performing.  Error messages if present and the applications(s) you are printing from.  While your situation appears similar, there are enough differences that make it unique from the thread started above.
