I purchased a Canon CP1500 for my wife for Christmas. Unfortunately I used cash to hide the purchase so the wife had no clue.
It's been used a few times since Christmas without issue. Today it's been plugged in and powered on, it shows the Canon logo and then proceeds to show the main menu screen before immediately flashing to an error screen. The screen is white with Error at the top of the screen in a red box.
I am unable to press anything when the menu flashes and can't get the error message to go away.
I've tried a different power cable, 2 different ink cartridges and no ink cartridge. I also tried to power off and remove the power cable for a while with no joy.
Can anyone give any suggestions?

Unless you bought it out of the back of a van, it should still be under warranty. Contact Canon.
