Canon Selphy CP1300 persist options between power cycles.

The default settings on the CP1300 are pretty bad, pictures come out dark and skin tone is way off.

I found that setting the following settings gives me way better prints:

  • Turn Image Optimize to Off
  • Brightness set to +1
  • My Colors set to Vivid

However those settings reset when the printer powers down, even if it's still plugged into the wall.

Any way to persist these settings between power down actions?

I found another bug on this printer, if I set the above settings and have auto power down set to on the printer will never turn off.

Just wanted to agree with the OP for the exact same reasons. While I'm happy I'm able to get something a little closer to the source photos from my phone or camera by tweaking the printer's settings, not being able to save those settings is incredibly tedious, and means I have to remember to set it every time.

This is even more annoying, as I bought a second printer as a gift for an elderly relative, hoping they'd be able to easily print out photos from their phone, but there's no way they'll be able to remember how to get into the settings and which settings need changing every single time, on top of the connection process and how to use the app.

Having the ability to save the default print settings would be one less thing to need to remember, for everyone's sake. Even the newer CP1500 doesn't have this ability, although I'm not surprised given the firmware is basically identical to the CP1300.
