Canon Pixma TR150 - Instantly get "Printer Status Default, error"

This happens every time I try to print.  As soon as I click "print", I get the "Printer Status Default, error" and nothing prints.  I have set the printer as the default printer over and over. I've tried starting up the printer before the computer as well.  Please help!

As of this moment this expensive $329 dollar printer is a paper weight!  I’m very unhappy with this printer!
