Error when trying to scan using LiDE 110 with Windows 10 Pro

I have the latest driver from the Canon support site.

When I click scan, it says it's warming up and then I get a dialog that says

ScanGear

Internal error ocurred

Scanner driver wil be closed

Code:5,202,54

Hi lxvi,

 

Please disconnect the USB cable from your scanner and then turn your computer off.

 

Restart your computer.  Once Windows is ready, please reconnect the USB cable.

 

Please attempt to scan after you have reconnected the USB cable.
