I have the SX 200 and am not satisfied with the reaction time.
I am looking into the G16 but am reluctant to spend $450 on it
not really knowing if it is worth it.
Has anyone gone from a camera similar to the sx200 to the g16 and was
it worth it?
thanks

I own the PowerShot G12 and an SX series Canon camera. The G series yield terrifc image quality compared to the SX series of cameras because of the larger sensor and brighter lens in the G series. However, the zoom range is much less than the SX200, which means you won't get the close up shots like you do with the SX200. It's really a matter of what is most important to you as far as the final photo is concerned. You might be better off with an entry level DSLR and an 18-250mm lens. Just a suggestion. Entry level DSLR's such as the Canon T3i can be had for around the same price as the G16.
