capturing light trails..

I want a good camera that i can use at night and capture light trails. Any advice or tips will be apperciated.

'light trails', as in astrophotography?

What's your level of experience with photography? budget?

Or vehicle light trials? Example night shots of a highway.  In both cases any DSLR can do that and like stated it all depends on your budget.
