can not access files on my canon

my hp Elite note book sees my Canaon camera.....but i can not access fies on my system.....what could be the problem?

• Which camera are you using?
• Which HP EliteBook and Operating System are you using?  They were introduced in 2008.
• What software are you using on the HP?
• Are connecting the camera to the laptop via USB, or wirelessly?
• Have you tried a card reader?  Most current laptops have a built-in SD slot.
