Hi! Hoping the community can help with my banding issues.
Can anyone here confirm that the R5ii does not have banding issues under LED lights that flicker at 1/120th?
I see the readout of the R5ii is sensor is 1/160, so theoretically it should be able to handle shooting under LEDs that flicker at 1/120 when anti-flicker reduction syncs the shutter release timing with the blink rate. But want to make sure before I send the $$$ to purchase or rent it.
Background on this is: I need to shoot an electronic shutter at 1/250th indoors under LEDs that flicker at 1/120th.
Tried the R6ii and R8. Fastest I could shoot with them was 1/119.9 (as suggested by the camera's "high-frequency flicker reduction").
1/119.9 did eliminate the banding, but was too slow for my subjects and am having image blur problems. Using the "TV Step" function in High-frequency flicker reduction to set multiples of the 1.119.9 shutter speed does not work—banding comes back bad. And normal anti flicker reduction is restricted to mechanical shutter on the R6ii and R8 so no help there.
So...hoping the R5ii readout speed will be the answer.
Many thanks,
Mike
