Engine/print mechanism works perfectly (confirmed via built-in engine test print), but control panel display does not light up, and USB/LAN ports do not respond to computer connection at all

sjad,

I have the feeling that many ( or at least several ) Canon printers do not have a backlit display on their display panel.

I have a G7020 and its display is not backlit. I have to use a flashlight. I ran across a discussion somewhere else and the person was using a Canon printer ( I forget the model ), and they were complaining that their display was not backlit either.

As far as the usb connection, mine doesn't work either, I use wifi do do my printing. I think it has something to do with the proper drivers, but I'm afraid to mess with it. I'm not that computer literate.
