I just spoofed myself, my router was showing a IP issued to an unknown device.
It is the Canon printer.
I want the printer to be named on my router.
How do I set a name for the printer?

Hello larsel2001!
The community is eager to assist! To ensure the most accurate information is provided, we’ll need to know the model of the printer you are using, and the version of Windows or Mac in use. We look forward to hearing back from you!

Hi Jason,
The printer is a mx439, works fine. I have it using wireless through my router. All I need and want is to set the metadata to show the printer name with the Mac on my router.
I am sure I will figure it out, but I was hoping to to eliminate some trial and error in doing so.
Thanks for your response.

Hi larsel2001,
The name the pritner uses to identify itself to the router is built into the firmware and cannot be changed. Typically the name is set to the MAC address of the printer.
