My EOS Rebel T7 was stolen

Hey! This past november my car was broken into. They took everything in the car including my Rebel T7. I know, it’s not the best camera in the world but it meant the world to me. If there is anything I can do to either track it down, or if it’s under warranty from 2022(?) please let me know. Thank you!!

Greetings,

There is no recourse.  Even if it got recovered. there isn't a universal camera registry that would put it back into your hands.

You could try to get some reimbursement from auto insurance but you'd have to pay your deductible, and some policies have limitations on the amount of personal property they'd cover.  You can ask, they would probably want receipts for valuation.  It's pobably more trouble than it's worth as the replacement cost isn't much.

I'd look at this as an opportunity to upgrade.  You could shop used or refurbished if you still have other lenses.  If you lost your entire kit, I'd invest in mirrorless.

So if the camera was stolen last November, why is it a "front burner" priority now seven months later? As has been said here, this was probably something to have popped out to your insurance carrier, but as was also inelegantly stated, you are likely out of luck.
